In the wake of the Orlando shooting, employees at a Chick-fil-A spent their day off cooking and serving free food and drinks to people in line to donate blood and officers who were on the scene early Sunday morning, AL.com reports.

The Chick-fil-A Lee Vista location posted photos to Facebook of the workers who volunteered their Sunday to feed first responders and blood donors.

The Cathy family, which owns the franchise, has come under scrutiny on multiple occasions for its opposition to gay marriage. As devout Southern Baptists, the owners close the restaurants on Sundays so the employees have “an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so,” according to their website.
