Sen. Jeff Sessions says, “There’s no constitutional right to come to America if you possess an ideology that’s dangerous, if you believe its okay to murder gay people.”

In an interview on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily” with Chuck Todd Wednesday, Sessions defended Donald Trump’s proposed Muslim immigration moratorium saying, “We absolutely protect the right of every Muslim that is in America to be able to carry out their religious beliefs as they choose. We respect them and we respect the Muslim religion.” (RELATED: Trump Calls For Moratorium On Muslims Entering United States)

What Trump is saying is “we need to be careful about who we admit into the country. There’s no constitutional right to come to America if you possess an ideology that’s dangerous, if you believe its okay to murder gay people. Give me a break. We need to do a better job of screening against that and that’s what Donald Trump is saying. And I think some of our people feel like he is dismissing an entire religion and that is not what he said.”

Last Sunday, a man who pledged allegiance to ISIS killed 49 people in Orlando, Florida.
