RuPaul said what happened in Orlando should be a “huge wake-up call” to every single American.

The infamous drag queen — whose real name is RuPaul Andre Charles — has weighed in on the mass shooting at a gay nightclub, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I am so numb from the whole thing and everyone has something to say about it; I don’t have any words yet,” he said. “I don’t want to minimize it into some celebrity sound bite, and I know this is a benchmark for the American people.”

“This is a huge wake-up call for us on so many levels, there needs to be a shift in our collective consciousness.”(RELATED: Obama’s first college now offers a whole class on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’)

“It’s not just about gun control, it’s not just about gay people, it’s about our identity as Americans,” he continued. “And that’s the challenge for us moving forward.”

“Every American who believes in what this country stands for is shaken to the core.”
