Steven Spielberg let a major spoiler slip out about the next installment of the “Indiana Jones” series: he will not kill off Harrison Ford’s character.

During a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the 69-year-old director assured fans that Jones will not suffer the same fate as Ford’s Han Solo in the most recent “Star Wars” film. (RELATED: Harrison Ford To Star In Another Indiana Jones Film)

“I think this one is straight down the pike for the fans,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “The one thing I will tell you is I’m not killing off Harrison [Ford] at the end of it.”

Ford has said in the past that he would only be interested in playing the Jones role if Spielberg was on board, according to another report.

“I’ve always thought there was an opportunity to do another,” he said. “But I didn’t want to do it without Steven. And I didn’t want to do it without a really good script.”

The movie is slated to come out in in July 2019.
