Tim Canova, who is running against Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, said Monday that Bernie Sanders could replace her as chair of the Democratic National Committee.

In a Reddit AMA, Canova said, “I have heard a rumor that some Democrats want to offer the DNC to Bernie Sanders if he does not get the Democratic nomination. ”

“Perhaps that would help unify the party, I don’t know. Like many, I am still hoping Bernie will get the nomination at the convention next month.”

Sanders, who has endorsed Canova, has argued that Wasserman Schultz rigged primary against him. (VIDEO: CNN’s Tapper Challenges DNC Chair To Explain ‘Rigged’ Superdelegate System)

Last week, Sanders said, “I believe we have to replace the current Democratic National Committee leadership. We need a person at the leadership of the DNC who is vigorously supporting and out working to bring people into the political process.”
