Senior Donald Trump adviser Michael Caputo tweeted “Ding dong the witch is dead” Monday, after news broke of Corey Lewandowski’s exit from the campaign.
“Ding dong the witch is dead!” Caputo tweeted, along with a picture of the infamous Wizard of Oz witch’s feet coming out from under Dorothy’s house and a link to a video of the song from the 1939 classic.

Lewandowski has skipped from scandal to scandal throughout the course of the Trump primary campaign, which decided in April of 2016 to reduce the role that Lewandowski would play in the campaign to one of a simple adviser. He and Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort have reportedly been engaged in a power struggle since Manafort was brought on later in the campaign.
Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks announced Monday Lewandowski “will no longer be working with the campaign,” reports The New York Times. “The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future,” Hicks added in the statement.
Hicks did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
