Facebook page River Entertainment posted a video showing how NowThis heavily edited GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments after the Orlando shooting, portraying him as a racist and insensitive to the victims of the Orlando shooting.
“They’re trying their best to make him look bad… This page is completely dishonest, and [has] no integrity. You’ve got to be a real lowlife to put something out like this… They should be shut down. Please… just go to that page, and let them know that you’re not going to accept this propaganda… Get the truth out,” says the narrator of the video, called Dishonest Anti-Donald Trump Propaganda Exposed.
The narrator begins by playing NowThis’s original video — which is titled “Donald Trump releases horrible foreign policy statement following the Orlando shootings” and appears to have been deleted.
“Now that video is obviously cut… and pasted together. It makes [Trump] look like a racist, a bigot, a Hitler-type character… like a racist against non-white people. I’m not white, I’m Indian-Sikh, just to let you know that,” says the narrator. “Let me go and break down this video and show you the whole context of every little clip they’ve cut out.”
The narrator goes back and works through each cut in the NowThis video — there are more than five — and shows the original audio of the speech. The majority of the cuts omit times where Trump displays sensitivity to Muslims or the LGBT community.
The worst cut — “the most dangerous,” according to the narrator — comes at the end of the video.
NowThis: Here is what she said: ‘Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.’ That is Hillary Clinton. I don’t want them in our country.
Actual: And by the way, the LBGT community is just, what happened to them is just so sad, and to be thinking where their policies are currently with this administration is a disgrace to that community, I’ll tell you that right now. Clinton wants to allow radical Islamic terrorists into this country. They enslave women and they murder gays. I don’t want them in our country. Immigration is a privilege and we should not let into our country those who don’t support our communities.
This edit eliminates the information Trump included that ties the shooter and his family to radical Islamic terrorist organizations:

Actual: The killer, whose name I will not use or ever say, was born in Afghan of Afghan parents, who immigrated to the United States. His father published support for the afghan Taliban, a regime which murders those who don’t share its radical views, and they’ve murdered plenty. The father even said he was running for president of Afghanistan. The bottom line is that the only reason the killer was in America in the first place was because we allowed him to be here.
This edit dodges Trump’s plan to analyze the immigration policy, and build it with the “interests and values of America,” instead making it sound like the candidate is randomly targeting people.
NowThis: We cannot continue to allow thousands upon thousands of people to pour into our country, many of whom have the same thought process as this savage killer.
Actual: We have a dysfunctional immigration system which does not permit us to know who we let into our country and it does not allow us to protect our citizens properly… When I’m elected, I will suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe, or our allies until we fully understand how to end these threats. And, by the way, we have no choice. After a full and partial and long- really long — overdue security assessment we will develop a responsible immigration policy that serves the interests and values of America. We cannot continue to allow thousands upon thousands of people to pour into our country, many of whom have the same thought process as this savage killer. Many of the principles of radical Islam are incompatible with Western values and institutions. Remember this: radical Islam is anti-woman, anti-gay, and anti-American.
The video has recently gone viral, gathering more than 1.9 million views, 37,000 shares, and more than 7,000 reactions, numbers high for the page of only 2,200 likes. A video posted on the page last Wednesday, for comparison, only received 22 likes and 2,400 views.
