During a Wednesday speech in North Carolina, presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton criticized Donald Trump for having the audacity to attack the Clinton Foundation, a charitable organization.
“He’s going after me personally because he has no answers on the substance,” Clinton stated. “In fact, he doubled down on being the king of debt, so all he can do is try to distract us. That’s even why he’s attacking my faith and of course attacking a philanthropic foundation that saves and improves lives around the world.”
“It’s no surprise he doesn’t understand these things,” the former secretary of state continued. “The Clinton Foundation helps poor people around the world get access to life-saving AIDS medicine. Donald Trump uses poor people around the world to produce his line of suits and ties.”
According to the New York Post, the Clinton Foundation was placed on a nonprofit “watch list” after it was discovered to spend less than 10 percent of its fundraising and grants on actual charity work.
The foundation has also received hundreds of millions of dollars in donations from questionable sources, including states accused of sponsoring global terrorism, a “blood minerals” mining firm and individuals who appeared to receive political favors during Hillary’s tenure in the Senate and State Department.
