House Democrats continued their exploitation of the Orlando terror attack by breathlessly fundraising throughout their “sit-in” in the House chamber Wednesday evening.

Senate Democrats and Republicans voted on four individual bills, two of which were sponsored by Republicans. Democrats voted only for their bill, however, stating that it was more important that the terror watch list and no fly lists be used as a metric.

House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin has been clear that the chamber will not vote on any bill that suspends rights without due process.

Democrats in general used the Orlando shooting to push their perspective on gun control. Within hours after the shooting, President Barack Obama announced that the problem was that too many people had easy access to weapons.

Omar Mateen, the ISIS-inspired terrorist who killed 49 people in Orlando, was not on any of these lists, meaning the one provision Democrats are fighting for would have done nothing to prevent the tragedy if the rules were in place when Mateen attempted to purchase a firearm.

House Democrats demanded action on gun control Wednesday that focuses on limiting access to guns to those who are on the terror watch list. The sit-in participants decried Republicans as not “lifting a finger” to do anything on gun control, despite Senate Democrats voting down two Republican-sponsored bills.

“It’s appalling, but not surprising, that House Democrats would send out fundraising emails on this issue, further exploiting the tragedy in Orlando for partisan political gain.” Katie Martin, National Republican Congressional Committee said when asked for comment.

To add insult to literal injury, House Democrats are using their bill as a fundraising opportunity, sending out emails during the “sit-in” protests.

There were six fundraising emails sent to constituents, the first went out at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night, and continued throughout the evening, one at midnight, 1:30 a.m., and continuing on till the final email, where Minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D) asked for more money.

“We’re emailing you so early because we need to defeat these AWFUL Republicans — NOW.” The emails decried the Republicans for their “inaction,” one email stating “Republicans STILL won’t lift a finger.”

Democratic House Member in California Jared Huffman also sent out a fundraising email claiming that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan “cut off our mics, cut the TV cameras, and retreated to his office.” Huffman used a picture of him at the sit-in in his fundraising email, breaking a major fundraising rule according to Martin.

Despite the fact that Democrats voted down two gun control bills sponsored by Republicans, the emails became a partisan grab for money from constituents.

Democrats went to great lengths to describe the sacrifices that they were making for the American voter. Each email listed the number of hours that House Democrats have been “sitting” on the House floor. The emails failed to mention the 5-star service that the Democrats received.

A full-service catered buffet was ordered featuring pizza, grilled chicken, cornbread, spinach, and mashed potatoes, pasta, and assorted sides. In addition to that, a local hotel donated “fluffy down pillows” to the Democrats sacrificing their time for their country.

Astoundingly, the no fly list also includes former Civil Rights Leader John Lewis, the central figure in the sit-in, as well as the Democratic fundraising push.

Democrats stated that they hope to keep making any House action regarding the Orlando shooting purely about gun control, and want to continue their push until the July 4th recess.
