Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Charged After Allegedly Assaulting Police Officer

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Trevor Boykin has officially been charged with misdemeanor assault after an incident before the Alamo Bowl.

Boykin allegedly struck a police officer on December 31, 2015, resulting in his arrest for the more serious charge of assaulting a police officer. As part of a deal with authorities, Boykin is now only being charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury, according to ESPN.

“Trevone has already agreed to terms with the authorities on a lesser charge. He has been accountable and remorseful from the beginning. Trevone is looking forward to training camp starting July 30th and to competing for a roster spot,” Boykin’s agent Drew Pittman said in a statement. (RELATED: Read The Graphic Police Report From Montee Ball’s Arrest For Allegedly Beating His Girlfriend)

Boykin’s arraignment is scheduled for August 1. He faces a maximum sentence of up to a year in jail.
