San Fransisco 49ers star quarterback Colin Kaepernick said the shooting of Alton Shelton in Louisiana was a lynching.
The dual-threat quarterback posted a video of the shooting to Instagram with the caption, “This is what lynchings look like in 2016! Another murder in the streets because the color of a man’s skin, at the hands of the people who they say will protect us. When will they be held accountable? or did he fear for his life as he executed this man?”
Sterling was shot by Louisiana police in Baton Rogue on Tuesday, and his death is already sparking protests in the region.
Democratic congressman Cedric Richmond called the shooting “deeply troubling.”
