“When I came to Hollywood to make it as a comedian, I soon learned that the details of my private life would be handed out to the media like free dinner vouchers,” Carrey said in a statement Thursday.

In September, police responded to an emergency call in Los Angeles after two friends went to check on Cathriona White and found her body. Authorities believe the 28-year-old died from a drug overdose because there were pills near her. (RELATED: The Devastating Suicide Note Jim Carrey’s Young Girlfriend Left Behind)

In the suicide note obtained by TMZ, White sounded devastated by her recent break up from Carrey in a suicide note she left behind.

“I’ve spent 3 days now in disbelief that you’re not here,” she reportedly wrote. “I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don’t have the will this time.”

“I’m sorry you felt I wasn’t there for you. I tried to give you my best part.”
