The Dallas Police Department is actively trying to locate a suspect after 11 officers were shot during a protest Thursday night.
At least four officers are dead and seven others injured after gunfire broke out during a protest over the recent police shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota this week. Two snipers reportedly shot at police from elevated positions during a protest that an estimated 800 people attended.
The police department issued this warning on its Twitter account Thursday night.

“An intensive search for suspects is currently underway,” Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a statement.
Earlier in the evening, a photojournalist for the Dallas News posted this video of the gunfire.
