Dallas police apprehended two suspects who may have taken part in Thursday night’s shooting of as many as 11 police officers during a protest.

A Dallas Police Department officer observed a person carrying a camouflaged bag walking quickly down Lamar Street. After throwing the bag into the back of a black Mercedes, the vehicle sped off quickly.

Officers reportedly followed the vehicle heading southbound on I-35E. Police are questioning both of the vehicle’s occupants.

Law enforcement officials sealed off downtown Dallas in response to the shooting.

Currently one suspect is reportedly in custody.

A source on the ground in Dallas told The Daily Caller News Foundation that FBI personnel, possibly including a bomb squad, are on the scene inspecting a suspicious package.
