Coffey Anderson generated some controversy after he posted a video telling fans what to do when they get pulled over by police.

The 38-year-old black country singer made the video following recent police-involved shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota. Anderson posted the video on his Facebook account with a message about why he had created the video. (RELATED: Beyonce Response To Latest Police Shootings: ‘Stop Killing Us)

“What do you actually do when you get pulled over by the police,” Anderson wrote. “Here is a video that helps diffuse tension at traffic stop, it gives solid steps into ways of staying safe, and getting home. Share this.”

“As the cop is approaching, you have to realize he doesn’t know what’s coming,” he said on the video. “As he’s walking up to the car, if he’s able to see both of your hands that’s safer for him. What it does, it takes his adrenaline down.”

“Do not sit on your wallet,” he added. “You want to have your wallet either in the side of your door, cup holder or at the front of your dash. If you’re reaching down as he walks up you could be pulling a weapon which is going to compromise his safety which is going to make his adrenaline go up.”

The video has been received with mixed results. While some praised the singer, critics of the video say Anderson appears to put all the fault on the drivers for police involved incidents.

It has been seen more than 32 million times already.
