It’s only Day 1 after Mike Allen‘s departure from Politico Playbook.

There are bound to be growing pains.

On Monday morning, the new honchos — Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer WITH Daniel Lippman — mistook Gretchen Carlson, the ex-Fox News employee who has filed a sexual discrimination suit against FNC CEO Roger Ailes, for Margaret Carlson.

Margaret Carlson is a columnist for Bloomberg News. She was a longtime columnist — in fact, the first female columnist — for TIME Magazine and has been a talking head on cable news for decades. She’s brunette. She looks like Velma Dinkley on “Scooby-Doo” and bears just a slight resemblance to Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.). Gretchen Carlson, meanwhile, was a host on Fox & Friends before landing her own afternoon program, The Real Story With Gretchen Carlson. She worked for the network for 11 years before FNC cut the cord. She’s blonde. She looks like a televangelist’s wife. She was crowned Miss America in 1989.

Just in case Playbook 2.0 was going for Gretchen’s middle name, that’s Elizabeth, not Margaret.

Never fear. There’s always tomorrow to outdo today’s mistake.
