Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who is on the short list to be Donald Trump’s vice president blasted the GOP establishment on Tuesday calling on them to “check their egos.”
Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” referring to Jeb Bush and other members of the GOP establishment Flynn said, “First of all, the people in that establishment, they need to check their egos. Referring to his meeting with Trump, Flynn said, “I found him to be an incredible listener. What I look for is the ability to ask really tough, smart questions. And the conversation we had, which was basically about the world, what’s going on around the world, and I think it was to give him a sense that his framework, his frame of mind was in the place where he just needed some reinforcement, I think, the first time I met him. “To me, I walked away from the conversation, that this is a guy that is very serious,” Flynn said of Trump. “This is a guy that talks about winning. And he obviously made it through the crucible over the last year. And I think, I do honestly believe that we need a new direction in this country and I think the American public, for the most part, are out there and that’s what they want.”
