A man inadvertently recorded himself and two others being gunned down in Norfolk, Virginia, during a live Facebook broadcast Tuesday night.

T.J. Williams was about five minutes into a Facebook live broadcast, which consisted of little more than he and two friends smoking in a car while listening to hip-hop. Suddenly, about 5:30 into the video and without warning, shots ring out and Williams drops his camera. More than two dozen shots are fired, and what exactly happens to Williams and his friends can’t be seen.

WATCH [Warning: Disturbing content]:

The camera itself continues to record from the floor of the car, and captures the audio aftermath of the shooting. A voice can be heard calling an ambulance, while another says that “three kids” have been shot. One is apparently trying to comfort and help a badly-hurt shooting victim.

“Stay relaxed, stay calm, stay relaxed,” he says. “Don’t go to sleep, stay relaxed … it’s gonna be all right, they coming to get you.” Later, several bystanders start loudly praying for the victims while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

Eventually, several bystanders urge a “T.J.” to remain calm, suggesting Williams and his friends were the ones hit by the gunfire.

Meanwhile, as the live broadcast continued, many commenters watched the proceedings live via Facebook.

“Hmu [hit me up] when you get a chance bro. Hope you good man,” said commenter Pauly Williams just minutes after the shooting. Another commenter, Olivia Pope, summed up the situation succinctly: “Wtf.”

Finally, paramedics arrive and take the victims away, while most bystanders disperse. But the camera remains unnoticed and keeps broadcasting for over an hour before it finally cuts out.

The exact location of the shooting isn’t clear from the video, but Williams’ Facebook page lists his employer as General Dynamics NASSCO in Norfolk, Virginia. The Norfolk Police Department announced Tuesday night that three men had been hospitalized after a shooting, two of them with life-threatening injuries.

According to local ABC13 news, all three men were found in a car with gunshot wounds, further indicating that Williams and his friends were the ones hit in the attack.
