NBC’s Joe Dana was conducting a live report in downtown Phoenix on Monday, but his story was co-opted by some action his cameras picked up in the background.

According to NBC, the newsroom “was immediately flooded with calls from concerned viewers,” who believed they had just witnessed an assault. “Police said they also received calls from concerned citizens.”

After responding to the calls, Phoenix police arrested 60-year-old Randall Burgess, the man in the video, for misdemeanor assault.

Burgess and the woman in the wheelchair were reportedly in a romantic relationship, and this is not his first run-in with the law.

He is currently on probation for resisting arrest (felony) back in 2015. He has previously been charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, fighting and violating probation.
