Politics More Important Than Great Sex In Search For A Mate, Survey Shows

Politics is more important than great sex when it comes to searching for a potential mate, a new survey shows.

A survey from the dating site OkCupid that looked as users over the last four years found that political leanings have become more and more important when finding a potential match, according to Bloomberg Politics(RELATED: CNN Didn’t Miss An Opportunity To Make A Weird Sex Joke About Bernie And Hillary)

From January 2012 to July 2016, 25.5 percent of the users who said they were looking for love more than great sex said that the second most important things in finding a mate was sharing similar political beliefs. (RELATED: Single Trump Supporters Now Have Help To Find Love)

For those who were looking for a mate with similar conservative views the percentage went from 21 percent in 2012 to 29 percent in 2016.

Those numbers, however, jumped when it came to those who want a lover who leans to the left and has more liberal views. The percentage went from 25 percent in 2012 to 40 percent in 2016.

The OkCupid survey looked at three-quarters of a million users who joined the site since January 2016.
