CLEVELAND, Ohio — Mike Pence accepted the Republican vice presidential nomination on Wednesday at the Quicken Loans Arena in a rousing speech where he heaped praise on Donald Trump while taking shots at Hillary Clinton.

After being introduced by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan at the Republican National Convention, Pence said, “You know the choice couldn’t be more clear. Americans can elect someone who literally personifies the failed establishment in Washington, D.C. or we can choose a leader who will fight every day to make America great again.”

“It’s change verses status quo and my fellow Republicans when Donald Trump becomes president of the United States of America, the change will be huge.”

In multiple instances during Pence’s speech, chants of “We like Mike” broke out.

“You have nominated a man for president who never quits, who never backs down, a fighter, a winner.”

“Until now he’s had to do it all by himself, against all odds, But this week, with this united party, he’s got back-up. And on Nov. 8, I know we will elected Donald Trump to be the 45 president of the United States of America.”

After the conclusion of the speech, Trump joined Pence on the stage before the rest of Pence’s family greeted him.
