How The Left Politicizes Anti-Semitism

Soon-to-be-former DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, in a recent interview with the Jerusalem Post accused Donald Trump of stoking antisemitism within the Republican Party for political purposes

At the same time, she brazenly ignored her own fellow Democrats history of anti-Israel bias and promotion of antisemitic stereotypes. She cited a litany of examples to support her position that Mr. Trump is inciting antisemitism, specifically making reference to the notable retweet of a six-pointed star superimposed over money with the caption that Hillary Clinton is the most corrupt candidate.

Certainly, there is plenty to strongly criticize Mr. Trump for, as he has made a whole host of troubling statements in the course of the campaign, especially his reluctance to disavow the support of David Duke in that Jake Tapper interview and his desire to remain neutral in the Israeli- Palestinian peace process. However, CNN’s Tom Foreman should fact check Mrs. Wasserman Schultz, because there is simply no available evidence at this time to support her conclusion that Donald Trump himself is stirring anti-semitism among Republicans. The fact that the RNC had to shut down its convention live chat because some of Mr. Trump’s supporters were spewing antisemitic diatribes does not justify the conclusion that Mr. Trump is anti-semitic. Would Mrs. Wasserman Schultz label Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders antisemitic because some of their supporters are antisemitic and virulently anti-Israel?

Even assuming arguendo that Mr. Trump is antisemitic, the DNC is only playing the antisemitism card as a strategic tool to draw a wedge between Jews and Republicans during an election year. Otherwise, the Democrats could care less about antisemitism, as they repeatedly promote an agenda that would cause far worse damage to Israel and Jews than an inappropriate retweet of a star that some considered to be a provocative depiction of the Star of David.

Let’s not forget that President Obama and the Democrats without any hesitation eagerly passed an Iran deal which allows Iran to obtain a nuclear bomb in approximately ten years and likely sooner, as Iran is currently violating the agreement according to German intelligence. Iran has made it very clear that they intend to use the nuclear bomb to annihilate the State of Israel. Now, Iran is testing ballistic missiles which could reach Israel and potentially could kill millions of Jews.

Yet, none of that seemed to be a concern for Debbie Wasserman-Schultz when she supported the deal. The Obama administration caused a significant rift in U.S.-Israel relations by treating Prime-Minister Netanyahu as persona non grata on multiple occasions and further actively funded a campaign in support of ousting Mr. Netanyahu. Nonetheless, the Democrats allowed the Jewish state to be treated in a disrespectful manner without objection. President Obama called for Israel to return to the 1967 borders which are indefensible although regrettably that did not seem to bother the DNC. When the Obama Administration refuses to condemn Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for glorifying terrorists who murder Jews and instead markets Mr. Abbas as a peacemaker, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her cohorts on the left are AWOL. And, when President Obama used a blatant Jewish stereotype to blast AIPAC for using money and lobbyists to oppose the Iran deal, I do not recall Debbie Wasserman Schultz or her leftist friends ever calling President Obama antisemitic.

Incredibly, Debbie Wasserman- Schultz has also never asked Hillary Clinton to disavow the support of rabid antisemites Sidney and Max Blumenthal. On the contrary, the DNC apparently has no problem with Hillary Clinton praising an article written by Max Blumenthal in which he essentially branded the only Jewish country an apartheid state.

Shockingly, it was just revealed by Wikileaks that Brad Marshall, CFO of the DNC, in a May 2016 email to colleagues attempted to subvert Bernie Sanders’ candidacy on the grounds that he is not Jewish enough stating “my Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.”

His boss, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, while agreeing to resign as DNC chair, has yet to condemn Mr. Marshall or call for his resignation for using the sincerity of one’s religion as a test in determining whether a candidate is suitable to win the nomination. On Monday, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) disgustingly branded Jews living on Jewish land in Judea and Samaria as termites. Unfortunately, the Democrats so far have failed to excoriate Johnson or demand that he resign for his vicious act of antisemitism presumably because he is a Democrat. Now, we learn from this growing DNC email scandal that DNC staffers were disturbed when Debbie Wasserman- Schultz asked them to make a statement commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day believing that such a day was not worthy of special recognition.

What other acts of antisemitism within the Democrat Party are still hidden from the public?

Yet, the DNC has the gall to act as if they are concerned about how Jews and Israel are treated in the world. Only in 2016 when Donald Trump is on the ballot. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC should not be taken seriously until they criticize their own fellow Democrats for fostering anti-semitism. Otherwise, the DNC are merely masters in the the art of politicizing it.
