Bradley Cooper was shocked by a fake controversy started by the media over Republicans “being upset” he was at the Democratic National Convention.

On Tuesday night, in an appearance on the “Late Late Show with James Corden,” the 41-year-old actor talked about attending the DNC in Philadelphia last week and that the Republicans response after seeing him there was unexpected. “I was not expecting that,” Cooper said. “The Republicans were up in arms because I attended the DNC to see the president speak.” (RELATED: Bradley Cooper: ‘American Sniper’ Was A Life Changing Experience For Me)

However, the theory that Republicans and conservative fans were upset at Bradley Cooper story was made up of three tweets on Twitter reported by The Huffington Post, The Daily Beast and Mediaite.

All three of the outlets reported the theory that conservative fans of the film were “upset” because of Cooper’s role as Navy Seal Chris Kyle in the 2014 movie called “American Sniper.” None of the outlets, however, offered any proof that any registered Republicans were upset.
