A CNN guest was met with silence when he compared Donald Trump’s campaign to Chris Farley’s death on live television.

John Phillips, a radio host who said he is an avid Trump supporter, made the remarks when he was asked about an ad that Rep. Mike Coffman released where he criticizes the Republican nominee.

“Over the last few days, I’m not surprised to see people running for the hills,” Phillips said. “The last 72 hours for Donald Trump have been the political equivalent of Chris Farley’s final 72 hours on planet Earth.”

Chris Farley died of a drug overdose in December 1997. When reached for comment, his brother Kevin said the joke was “tasteless and rude.”
