Donald Trump said Monday that Hillary Clinton “short-circuited” and “accidentally told the truth and said that she wanted to raise taxes on the middle class.”

Speaking at the Detroit Economic Club at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Trump said that Clinton “plans another massive job killing $1.3 trillion tax increase, big increase, one of the biggest ever. Her plan would tax small businesses by almost 50 percent.” (RELATED: Hillary Promises ‘We Are Going To Raise Taxes On The Middle Class’ [VIDEO])

“Recently, at a campaign event, Hillary Clinton short circulated — you know this one. You heard this one,” Trump said, before correcting himself. “Hillary Clinton short-circuited again, to now use a famous term, when she accidentally told the truth and said that she wanted to raise taxes on the middle class.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton: I ‘Short-Circuited’ With My Email Answers [VIDEO])

After the applause for the audience subsided, Trump said, “I am proposing an across-the-board income tax reduction, especially for middle-income Americans. This will lead to millions of new and really good paying jobs. The rich will pay their fair share but no one will pay so much that it destroys jobs or undermines our ability as a nation to compete.”
