Playboy Creator Hugh Hefner Gets His Own Docuseries

Playboy creator Hugh Hefner will be the focus of a new docuseries coming to Amazon.

On Thursday, the company announced that the 13 part series called “American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story” will look back at the life of the 90-year-old business mogul that created the Playboy franchise and company, according to the Hollywood Reporter(RELATED: Playboy Model Reveals What Donald Trump Was Like When She First Met Him)

“Although Hugh Hefner is an iconic figure known worldwide, most people may not be aware of the impact he has had on some of this country’s most important social revolutions,” Amazon Studios Conrad Riggs said. “We are excited to bring Prime members the untold story of Mr. Hefner’s remarkable life and his contributions to modern American history.” (RELATED: Playboy Mansion Just Sold For More Than $100 Million Dollars)

Hefner has been involved in the project and will reportedly share stories that have never been told about his life and career.

“It has been a long road in finding the right partners to tell the full story of Playboy as it has unfolded over these past 63 years,” Hefner said. “I’m pleased that this docuseries will shed light on what has been an incredible journey and the voice Playboy has had in the discussion of our ever-changing culture. Just as importantly, my hope is that it will inspire others to pursue their dreams.”

The Playboy series is expected to hit Amazon in 2017.
