Republican nominee Donald Trump reacted to Hillary Clinton’s speech attempting to tie him to racists and fringe figures by saying: “She is the only one fear-mongering!”

In a series of tweets, Trump said Clinton, the Democratic nominee, is spreading “lies” and “is pandering to the worst instincts in our society.”

“She should be ashamed of herself!” Trump wrote.

“Hillary Clinton is using race-baiting to try to get African-American voters- but they know she is all talk and NO ACTION!” Trump said.

Earlier Thursday, Clinton released a video trying to portray Trump as a racist. In the video, a Klu Klux Klan leader is quoted saying: “The reason a lot of Klan members like Donald Trump is because a lot of what he believes in we believe in.”

Clinton gave a Thursday afternoon speech attacking Trump for his association with people of the so-called “alt-right.”

“A man who traffics in dark conspiracy theories drawn from the pages of supermarket tabloids and the far dark reaches of the internet should never run our government or command our military,” Clinton said.

Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, released a statement after the speech saying: “Donald Trump is talking about issues; Hillary Clinton is talking about Donald Trump. Today, as she took a break from her Hillary-in-Hiding Tour, she missed another opportunity to talk about education, infrastructure, terrorism, healthcare, the economy and energy. We’re living in her head rent-free, and that must terrify the political insiders who want to keep things exactly the way they are.”
