Al Roker Jerks It On Live TV [VIDEO]

Al Roker demoed his “Protein-Packed Brisket Jerky” recipe on TODAY Friday morning.

The Brisket Jerky is part of Today’s week-long, back-to-school food special.

INGREDIENTS

1.5 cup teriyaki sauce

.5 cup liquid smoke

.5 cup sweet chili sauce

.5 cup water

1 tablespoon onion powder

2 tablespoon brown sugar

2 pounds brisket, sliced .125″ thick against the grain

PREPARATION

Combine teriyaki sauce, liquid smoke, sweet chili sauce, water and onion powder in a large bowl.

Slice brisket into thin strips and add to bowl.

Cover and let marinate for 24 hours.

(After marinating for 1 day) Remove brisket from marinade. Blot dry with paper towels and add to sheet tray with a rack.

Place in a 175°F oven and cook for 2.5-3 hours.
