MSNBC was forced to issue a trigger warning Tuesday morning before airing a tweet from Donald Trump supporter Pastor Mark Burns.
“Let’s put the tweet on the screen that sparked the controversy,” noted host Craig Melvin before telling sensitive viewers to put on their ocular earmuffs.
“Once again, we should alert our viewers that some, likely most, find it very offensive,” warned Melvin. “Here it is.”
“Black Americans, thank you for your votes and letting me use you again,” he read. “See you again in 4 years.”
On Monday, Pastor Burns had tweeted the now-deleted cartoon of Hillary Clinton in black face in an effort to expose her pandering to the black community, an act which earned him criticism from both sides of the aisle.
Burns has since apologized for posting the cartoon.
