Former Mexican President Vicente Fox said Donald Trump is “not welcome” in Mexico Wednesday.
“He is not welcome to Mexico by 130 million people. We don’t like him. We don’t want him. We reject his visit,” Fox told CNN’s “New Day” ahead of Trump’s meeting with current Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
“I don’t understand why President Peña has offered this opportunity,” Fox said.
Fox called the meeting “nothing more than a political stunt” and believed Trump was using the current president to boost his poll numbers.
The Republican presidential nominee was quick to respond to Fox on Twitter.
Fox had apologized in May about his vulgar language when referring to Trump and his plan to build a wall.
In his apology, he had invited Trump to see the border on the Mexican side.
