From the world of “I didn’t know I needed this,” comes a tampon made with pot.

A company named Foria, based out of Los Angeles, Calif., has developed “The Weed Tampon,” which can help ease the pain associated with menstruation, NBC Colorado affiliate, 9 News, reported Wednesday.

The product is “carefully crafted using a delivery system intended to maximize the muscle relaxing and pain relieving properties of cannabis without inducing a psychotropic high,” Foria claims on their website.

The tampons cost $44 for a four-pack, and are made from organic cocoa butter, distilled THC oil, and CBD (cannabidiol) “isolate from organic hemp.”

Foria claims that users “have reported a significant decrease in the pain and discomfort often associated with menstruation” One reviewer on the Foria website even claims it’s good for her restless leg syndrome.

“While Foria Relief demolishes my menstrual cramps, I have found it useful in relieving restless legs syndrome, as well,” a reviewer named Joy wrote.

For now, the THC-laden feminine hygiene products are only available in California and Colorado, and only to those with either a medical marijuana card, or a doctor’s prescription, but Foria plans on rolling out their product to other states where the law allows.

The product is not supposed to get its users high, but many of those who left reviews on the site said it does produce a “sensation” and helps them relax or feel “dreamy.”
