Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is leading in the latest national poll published Tuesday by CNN.

Trump has a two-point lead over Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, earning 45 percent to 43 percent. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson lost a few points in the poll, earning only 7 percent. Green Party nominee Jill Stein earned just 2 percent.

Clinton had an eight-point lead over Trump in August’s CNN/ORC poll. The majority of voters still believe the Democratic nominee will win the general election in November. Fifty-nine percent reported they felt Clinton had the greater chance of winning 270 electoral college votes, compared to only 34 percent who said Trump was going to win the White House.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway tweeted out the poll Tuesday morning.

Trump’s support grew among Republicans to 90 percent. Clinton had only a slight edge with Democratic voters, earning 92 percent. Young voters overwhelmingly supported Clinton — 54 percent supported the Democratic nominee compared to Trump’s 29 percent.

Although women as a group were more likely to support Clinton at 53 percent, the Democratic nominee didn’t earn all female demographics. Seventy-three percent of unmarried women voters supported Clinton, but only 36 percent of married female voters chose Clinton over Trump.

Forty-nine percent of independent voters supported Trump, while only 29 percent of independents supported Clinton.

The CNN/ORC poll was conducted from Sept. 1 through Sept. 4, and included 886 registered voters. The margin of error for the poll was plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
