Aspiring LPGA golfer Paige Spiranac burst onto the scene after her pro debut in the Ladies’ Masters last December in Dubai. Since then, the gorgeous golfer has taken on a lot of negative criticism via social media, although that’s hard to believe.

“Golf’s hard enough without having thousands of people telling you to quit,” Paige said in an interview with Bunkered magazine. The 23-year-old golfer has taken on so much negative criticism, it made her “seriously consider giving up golf,” according to Bunkered.

“I’ve read a lot of stuff about me on social media that’s not true,” Spiranac told Bunkered. “But I’ve come to realize that there’s not a lot I can do about that.”

“I didn’t expect my participation [in Dubai] to cause so much controversy, so it was hard to sit and either listen to or read people saying some not very nice things about me,” Paige told Bunkered.

“I’ve heard a lot of people say that I show a lot of skin or whatever but, for someone my age, I actually think I keep it pretty tame,” Spiranac said.

“When I first turned pro, I think a lot of people thought I was going to be so much better than I was because of my social media profile,” she said to Bunkered.

“I guess I had the notoriety without the results but golf’s a game where you lose more than you win. It’s a cliché but it’s true. It just doesn’t make it any easier to stand in front of a lot of people and have them watch you fail.”

From where I’m sitting, your golf game looks just fine, Paige.
