Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump asked a Gold Star wife to stand at a press conference Friday, prompting the crowd to give her a standing ovation.

“Please stand,” he said to Jane Horton, whose husband Christopher Horton was an Army sniper killed in action in Afghanistan in September, 2011. “Thank you, Jane.”

The crowd rose to give her a standing ovation, as Trump continued: “Thank you. Incredible. Jane lost her husband, specialist Chris Horton in Afghanistan on September 9, 2011. And Jane it’s such an honor to have you here. And I heard so many things about Chris, and he was a winner. And thank you very much on behalf of the country. Thank you.”
