Many have been impressed with the young quarterback’s performance and are even questioning whether or not Romo will retake his role as the starter when he gets healthy.

Prescott shut down those rumors as quickly as they started, telling reporters Monday “this is Romo’s team,” FOX Sports reports.

“I’ve said that from the moment that I was named the starter and he went down. I’m just trying to do my best to win games and put this team in a successful position to do that week in and week out and when he comes back, I’ll leave that up to the big guys.”

Prescott hasn’t thrown a touchdown in either of his first two games, but he hasn’t thrown an interception either. He now has “the most attempts to start a career without throwing a pick in his first two games,” according to FOX Sports.

It seems that Prescott has been playing it smart both on and off the field. He knows his place, and he’s getting the job done. (RELATED: Jerry Jones Is Proud Of His Team Standing For The National Anthem)

Finally Dallas has a reliable quarterback to fill in for the often-injured Romo.
