On Saturday, 40-year-old James Raines broke into a home in Ocala, Florida and attacked the residents. He was found by authorities “naked and unresponsive,” the Orlando Sentinel reports.
There was a man and two women in the home, who defended themselves against the intruder. One woman had a bite mark on her arm.
The home residents say he was acting out uncontrollably, and they managed to keep him contained in a bedroom until authorities arrived. Raines is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement, “Deputies identified Raines as someone who lives in the area and responded to his residence also. While at Raines’ home, another adult female was located who also appeared to be under the influence of a substance and needed medical treatment.”
Raines was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. His cause of death has not been confirmed, and the investigation is still ongoing.
