The NFL’s Eagles-Bears matchup on Monday night garnered an 8.3 overnight rating, an 11 percent drop from last year’s week two Monday night face off between the Jets and the Colts.

It was also the lowest Week Two Monday Night Football rating “since at least ’09, and likely further back,” SportsBusiness Daily reports.

The low ratings come as league players have been taking a knee during the national anthem to protest violence against black Americans. Some have pointed to a lack of star players as the reason for the poor numbers, according to Pro Football Talk.

“The league has now seen an apple-to-apples ratings drop in each of the seven prime-time games this year,” Pro Football Talk reports.
