MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough has been dealt a tough blow. His 25-year-old son, Andrew, fell down a flight of stairs and suffered a traumatic brain injury. He remains in at Bellevue Hospital.
Scarborough’s co-host Mika Brzezinski delivered the news on Friday’s program, as reported by the New York Post.
“His son Andrew had a horrible accident,” she said. “Head injury, fractured skull… He fell down a flight of stairs.”
Brzezinski, who was on site at Bellevue to support her co-host, reported that Andrew is in stable condition.
There were apparently other “Morning Joe” staffers there to comfort Scarborough and his son.
Scarborough provided a few updates on Twitter and thanked viewers for their prayers.

The New York Post, as it has done previously, more than hinted at a romantic relationship between Joe and Mika with this line: “Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough have refused to confirm they are a couple though they are believed to be romantically involved.”
Over the weekend, the pair were spotted together at one of Joe’s concerts at the Manhattan bar Prohibition.
The Mirror wishes a speedy recover for Andrew.
