Republican nominee Donald Trump pulled ahead of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the latest national poll published Sunday by Morning Consult.

Trump earned 39 percent in the latest poll, down one percentage point from 40 percent in last Sunday’s Morning Consult poll. Clinton earned 38 percent, down four percentage points from last week’s 42 percent among likely voters.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson earned 9 percent, and Green Party Candidate Jill Stein earned 4 percent, both polling one percentage point higher than last week.

In a head to head poll between Clinton and Trump, Clinton still leads 44 percent to 42 percent, indicating that Johnson and Stein take more points from Clinton than they do Trump.

Trump leads with white voters by 11 percentage points — 44 percent back Trump — compared to only 33 percent who support Clinton. Clinton’s numbers with black voters fell to 75 percent, down from a solid 95 percent in previous polling. Clinton earned 54 percent support among Hispanic voters.

Thirty percent of voters believe that Trump will win Monday’s debate, but 36 percent of likely voters believe that Clinton will win the debate. Nearly a quarter of voters believe that the debates will not be a factor in who they decide to vote for.

Although 25 percent of Independent voters reported they will not watch the debate, 54 percent said they planned to watch the entire debate. Seventy-five percent of Republicans plan to watch the debate, compared to 70 percent of Democrats who planned to watch the debate.

Trump tied Clinton last Sunday in The New York Times national poll, with the pair each earning 42 percent in the four-way poll that included Johnson and Stein.

The Morning Consult survey polled 1,712 likely voters, and carried a margin of error of two percentage points in either direction.
