Three people were injured after a triple shooting in Washington, D.C., Sunday night, capping off a violent weekend in the District.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near Manor Park on Oglethorpe Street Northeast at roughly 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Authorities confirm the drive-by shooting left one male and two female victims with gunshot wounds. Police are looking for a dark colored sedan spotted leaving the crime scene, reports WJLA.

Authorities took the victims to a local hospital to be treated for their wounds, which officials said are non-life threatening. (RELATED: DC Officials Blast ‘Significant’ Homicide Spike, Demand Answers)

The incident comes on the heels of a shooting early Sunday morning in Northeast, D.C., that left one man dead. Police responded to reports of gunshots near Nicholson Street and Kensington Place, not far from the location of the drive-by shooting. Officers found 22-year-old Marcellus Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound on Riggs Road Northeast — officials with the D.C. Fire and EMS Department pronounced him dead on scene, according to an MPD statement.

The homicide rate in the District spiked 54 percent in 2015, and is only 12 percent lower so far this year. Homicides have tripled in Ward 7. D.C. is suffering a violent year overall, with 103 homicides across the city. The alarming surge in homicides is down from the shocking numbers in 2015, but is still historically high. There were a total of 105 homicides in 2014 and 88 in 2012.
