The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has arrested one of the black suspects who was involved in a mob-driven brutal assault of a white man in a parking garage during the Charlotte riots last Wednesday, Fox 46 reported.
Police charged 22-year-old Antonio Gatewood Tuesday with common law robbery, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, false imprisonment and ethnic intimidation.
The victim, according to the CMPD, sustained serious injuries and Gatewood was already wanted on previous warrants. Gatewood was also identified as a suspect in the burglaries that happened at the CVS and Jimmy Johns during the Wednesday night chaos.
Law enforcement is still looking to identify the other suspects involved in the assault at the Epicentre parking deck.
