A Houston man with Texas license to carry thwarted an armed robbery at an AutoZone store last weekend.

According to KHOU 11, three armed men entered the auto store Friday night demanding cash from the register.

While parking his car in front of the store, the good Samaritan saw AutoZone employees being held at gunpoint. The customer pulled out his gun and entered the store, demanding the three criminals drop their weapons and get on the ground. He kept the suspects in place until the police arrived. No shots were fired, and there were no reported injuries.

Despite the heroic actions of this man, Houston deputies told KHOU that they do not recommend people take this action because it could lead to a shootout.

The three suspects will most likely face felony charges for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Texans with a license to carry can carry either openly or concealed. Texas law allows permit holders to use deadly force to protect their own life or the life of another.
