The French police chief said Kim Kardashian “flaunts her riches” and invited “trouble.”
The 35-year-old reality star was robbed at gunpoint in her Parisian apartment early Monday morning, and the spokesperson for the French police chief, Johanna Primevert, told CNN it was her basically her fault. (RELATED: Paris Mayor Insists ‘Streets Are Protected’ After Kim Kardashian Robbery)
“It was really the celebrity who was targeted, with possessions that had been seen and noticed via social media, and it was these goods that the attackers targeted,” Primevert said.
“I saw this happening,” she added according to The Daily Mail. “It just had to with the way Kim flaunts her riches and her diamonds. She has nearly 50 million people( on Twitter) who at any moment and on any day know where she is.”
“And then she shows them this mighty great expensive rock on her hand a few hours before and she invites trouble,” she continued. “She could fall prey to stalkers, crazy fans or criminals like this weekend at any time and she and Kanye now have to take this as a warning.” (RELATED: Here’s Who French Police Think Tipped Off Thieves About Kim Kardashian’s Whereabouts)
Days before the robbery Kardashian had posted a picture on her Instagram account for her 84 million followers wearing a huge diamond ring.
The reality star was alone in her apartment early Monday when five masked gunmen broke in, held a gun to her, then bound and gagged her, before making off with $11 million dollars worth of jewelry.
French police have said they think Kardashian was tailed by two men — one pretending to be a police officer, and one as a photographer — for days before the robbery. The multi-million dollar heist is believed to been conducted with help from one of her body guards.
