I will defend to the death the military’s right to spend my hard earned tax dollars on strippers.

A recent report from the AP claims that Defense Secretary Ash Carter’s former senior military aide Maj. Gen. Ron Lewis used his government credit card on strippers. The alleged locations for his spending spree were the Candy Bar in South Korea and Cica Cica Boom in Rome, Italy.

Lewis is denying the allegations he was making it rain down on strippers and instead says he spent the government money at a “high-end establishment with a respectable clientele that had a DJ, a bar area and a dance floor where couples were dancing.”

I have no idea if Lewis is guilty or not, but more important is the fact that it doesn’t really matter. The men in uniform occasionally need morale boosters, and is it my job as a civilian to tell the top military brass how their morale should best be raised?

I am very much against my tax money being blown but I’m also very pro-military. Given the insane amount of money Uncle Sam feels the need to take from me I think it’s fair to say that I should have an input, and I don’t think spending money on strippers is the worst thing in the world. America has the greatest military in the world and if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Nobody tells a quarterback to change his throwing style when all he does is throw touchdowns.

If the federal government can impressively blow $43 million on a useless gas station in Afghanistan then I don’t think it’s unreasonable to spend a few thousand dollars on something that might actually have positive results. I’m against government waste at all levels, but I will never be against the military at any level. However, if any other government employee pulls this stunt they should be fired immediately.

Lewis should have dug in and denied nothing. He should have accepted the fact that he is a hero for going the extra mile for our men and women in uniform. Naturally, in our politically correct culture led by President Obama men have now been neutered and are not allowed to bro out with their buddies anymore.

Also, has anybody considered the possibility that Lewis was simply working over some sources? If he was being tailed by some Russians it’d be pretty hard to overhear any conversation he was having in a strip club. Overall this might have been a very strategic play.

I’m sure plenty of people who come out against the military and myself for defending the greatest military in the history of the world. Am I a hero for defending the heroes in uniform? I’ll let somebody else decide that.
