After apologizing for sexually explicit comments about trying to sleep with married women, Donald Trump accused former President Bill Clinton of being “abusive to women” and said that Hillary Clinton “attacked those same women.”
“There’s never been anybody in the history of politics in this nation that’s been so abusive to women,” Trump said, “So you can say anyway you want to say it, but Bill Clinton was abusive to women. Hillary Clinton attacked those same women.”
“Don’t tell me about words. I absolutely apologize for those words,” Trump continued. “But what President Clinton did, he was impeached, he lost his license to practice law, he had to pay an $850,000 fine to one of the women.”
“I will tell you that when Hillary brings up a point like that, and she talks about words that I said 11 years ago, I think it’s disgraceful, and I think she should be ashamed of herself, to tell you the truth,” Trump concluded.
“So much of what he just said is not right,” Clinton responded. “But he gets to run his campaign anyway he chooses.”

Continuing to claim Trump is avoiding talking about issues, she quoted Michelle Obama by saying, “When they go low, we go high.”
“He never apologizes for anything to anyone,” Clinton countered, saying the American people can decide if the man in the video is someone they’d like as their president.
She listed incidents of controversy Trump engaged in during the campaign, which led to Trump accusing her campaign of starting the birther movement.

Trump apologized Friday for what he said, but the story led to an exodus of public support from elected Republicans from across the country. A majority of Republican voters, however, want the party to stand by the billionaire businessman.
