Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign cleared a tweet concerning the disclosure of her email log with the Department of State, according to an email released by WikiLeaks in connection with its dump of campaign chairman’s John Podesta’s server.

The revelation comes after The Daily Caller News Foundation was first to report that the State Department provided a detailed readout of official email traffic it was about to release in response to Freedom of Information Act requests from Judicial Watch. “Nick, John, Cheryl & I just hung up, this is final & cleared with State. HRC approved. Please send now,” an unnamed communications staffer wrote of the tweet below.

“The State Department does not comment on alleged leaked documents,” State Department spokesman John Kirby told TheDCNF. “Generally speaking, it is not unusual for State Department staff to be in contact with the staffs of former Secretaries.”

The tweet logged 1,000 retweets within minutes, and was one of the first public comments Clinton made concerning her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. Its immediate success prompted Podesta to observe the tweet’s reach and impact seemed to overwhelm the American libido.

“Good to know people go to bed with their Twitter decks,” he wrote. “Sex must be obsolete.”

U.S. intelligence officials have definitively linked WikiLeaks to actors near the Russian government. They say the Podesta hack is likely part of a scheme to interfere in the presidential election.
