Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was so eager to help Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the early stages of her campaign that campaign chairman John Podesta called her a stalker in an email published by WikiLeaks.

“Sheila Jackson Lee is stalking me,” the Clinton campaign chairman wrote in the April 2015 email that included a list of people interested in helping or working for the campaign. “In addition to wanting to be involved in everything, she specifically asked me about whether Hillary would accept the Barbara Jordan Medallion for Service at Texas Southern University.”

Jackson Lee has since officially endorsed Clinton, and raised eyebrows in September when she wore a campaign pin to a House Committee on the Judiciary oversight hearing on the FBI’s investigation of the nominee’s use of a private server while secretary of state. Jackson Lee questioned FBI director James Comey while wearing the gold “H” pin.

Clinton did receive what was the inaugural Barbara Jordan Medallion for Service in a visit to TSU in October. Jackson Lee stands proudly next to Clinton in a photo attached to a statement on TSU’s website in which she describes the award as a way to honor women who embody ” the principles of leadership and courage.”
