Outkick the Coverage founder and Fox Sports pundit Clay Travis applauded CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz for respecting America despite protests during the national anthem.

“The reason why I think that it’s a big deal. I do believe that this Colin Kaepernick protest is having an impact on the overall ratings to some degree. To what exactly we’re not sure. I know there are a lot of theories out there. I think that certainly politics has played into it. Fewer people are watching the NFL because of politics. And Jim Nantz directly addressing it like he did last night hasn’t gotten a ton of attention, but it is a little instructive that guys who are being ‘patriotic’ are not receiving the same level of attention, which is the vast majority of NFL players,” Travis said Friday morning on his radio show “Outkick the Coverage.”

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick kicked off the massive trend of protesting during the national anthem.

More and more players have joined the dual-threat quarterback for his protest against the alleged oppression of minorities in America, and Travis has been one of the most vocal critics of their actions. (RELATED: Clay Travis: Colin Kaepernick Is A Stooge [VIDEO])

It doesn’t look like these protests will be going away anytime soon, but perhaps now more high-profile individuals will speak out against Kaepernick.
