Mika Brzezinski didn’t appreciate Sam Stein’s Monday morning joke about the Clinton Foundation.

“Sam, $1 million as a birthday gift. I know you’ve got a lot of friends — a lot of your rich friends from Dartmouth — that comment and give you $1 million for your birthday presents,” Brzezinski’s co-host Joe Scarborough posed to Stein. “But a self-described redneck from Arkansas, getting $1 million check from Qatar for his birthday, that’s big stuff.”
“I call the $1 million gift club the second tier friends,” the Huffington Post politics editor joked in response. “The first tier is $5 million.”
“What? Seriously?” Brzezinski incredulously stated as the rest of the panel laughed. “That’s sick!”
“As Mark [Halperin] said, this confirms kind of the worst portraits of how the Clintons operated out of office,” Stein quickly stated. “It raises obvious questions about why the were accepting this money.”
