In a giant flub, Baron’s management committed a “reply all” disaster and informed reporters that employees at WSJ and Barons will be facing layoffs this week and next.
Politico‘s Hadas Gold posted the email reply on Twitter.

WSJ Editor-in-Chief Gerry Baker shot out a staff email Friday telling employees of plans for a “broader transformation.”
Translation?
Layoffs.
“There will be, unfortunately, an impact on news department staff in the process.”
To try to ward off layoffs, he offered buyouts.
He said a “substantial” number of employees around the world would be affected.
